NWN Young Writer’s City, Gateshead Schools Project

From April 2023 I will be working across three amazing schools in Bensham, Gateshead for New Writing North, producing part of the Young Writer’s City Programme.

New Writing North have been delivering Young Writer’s City projects in schools in Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham since 2015. Pupils from Excelsior Academy and Callerton Academy (Newcastle), Kingsmeadow Community School, Larkspur Community Primary School and Kelvin Grove Primary School in Gateshead, have worked with industry professionals to complete story-based projects including song-writing, rapping, film-making, poetry, narrative fiction and non-fiction writing and dramaturgy, and I’m really excited to part of this creative and inspirational project.

Also over the Spring / Summer 2023 I will be working in a central Newcastle Academy facilitating Arts Awards as part of an exciting year-long NWN rap writing project.
